Q How often should you wash your hair?
A Different people have different opinions when it comes to how often you should wash your hair. Some people say once everyday, whereas others find that once a week is more effective. The truth is, we are all different, and you need to find what works best for you.
Q Why does your fringe grow faster?
A Hair grows at about the same speed all over your head. There is no perceptible difference between the fringe, nape, or crown.
You might think that fringes (bangs) grow faster than hair on other parts of your head, but that's simply an illusion. Many cut the fringe just above the eyebrows and because of this the slightest hairgrowth will be visible.
Q How often is it okay to use the straighteners?
A If you use the straighteners correctly with the required products and treatments, heat resistance creams and smoothing balms on it, your hair will be conditioned. However lots of these products will also have shine enhancers, such as silicone that will help deflect the ravages of humidity of straightened hair. The general view point is you can use your hair straighteners on a regular basis, the more often you use them then the more care you need to take with your hair. Take care of your hair with the specialist products that are provided and you should be able to use them as often as you like.
Q How often should I have my hair coloured?
A The short answer is when the roots start showing - usually about every 4-6 weeks, the long answer is that again everyone is different, if you are unsure about colouring your hair - ask one of our highly knoweledgable staff.
Q Is a semi better for my hair?
A Semi-permanent products contain no developer or peroxide, and contain no ammonia. It is possible to cover graying shades of hair temporarily with this type of hair coloring, but be advised that it may wear off in 5-7 days. In addition, note that hair products labeled as semi-permanent may contain the toxic compound P-Phenylenediamine or other such products found in traditional hair color.
Q How long does a semi last?
A Semi-permanent color washes out over a period of time (six to twelve shampoos, depending upon the formula), so if you don‘t like the color you don’t have to live with it for too long. Another benefit of semi-permanent color is that because the color is temporary, you won't have to deal with noticeable roots.
Q Does it cost more to have more than one colour?
A Yes, as multiple dyes need to be used.
Q Is it okay to have your hair coloured when you are pregnant?
A Over the years, people have conducted animal studies trying to shed light on this matter. Some, but not all, studies have shown a few of the chemical compounds in hair dyes to be teratogenic (causing birth defects). However, in many cases the animals were exposed to extremely high doses of these chemicals, doses in no way equivalent to the exposure of the woman who colours her hair every month or two.
Clearly, the chemicals in both permanent and semi-permanent hair dyes are not highly toxic. These chemicals have been around a long time, and no research shows they cause defects in newborns, so colouring your hair during pregnancy is probably safe. Plus, if you apply the dyes safely (using gloves in a well-ventilated room, and not leaving solutions on for excessive periods of time), you don't really absorb much of the chemicals into your system.
